"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint" (Qur'an 2:183).
"When My servants ask you concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them) ; I respond to every suppliant when he calls on Me; let them also, with a will, listen to My call, and believe in Me; that they may walk in the right way." (Qur'an 2:186).
A Time for Seeking The Mercy of Allah
RAMADAN: A Time for Seeking God's Mercy, Forgiveness and Reward
FIRST TEN DAYS: Days of Mercy--
Days of seeking Allah's Mercy for oneself and others and of showing mercy to oneself and others.
SECOND TEN DAYS: Days of Forgiveness--Days of seeking Allah's forgiveness for oneself and others and of forgiving oneself and others.
THIRD TEN DAYS: Days of emancipation from Hell--Days of solidifying the transformation of self and conquest of one's shaytan; and of seeking and expecting Allah's acceptance of one's fasting, repentance and good deeds; and of prayers for oneself and all Muslims; expectation of Allah's acceptance and mercy and hope for His reward of Paradise.
