Wednesday, September 15th: Films & Discussion In Commemoration of The 39th Anniversary Of The Attica New York Prison Rebellion & Massacre........................

From September 9th - September 13th in 1971, over 1200 prisoners at New York State Attica Prison responded to the prison guard murder of Soledad prison leader and Black Panther Party Field Marshall, George Jackson by rebelling and taking control over half of the prison. Declaring that "We are men. We are not beasts and we do not intend to be beaten and driven as such"  they were then betrayed on the final day of their human rights negotiations with an unprovoked armed attack which left 29 prisoners & 10 hostages brutally murdered by the state. To commemorate these two freedom fighting events in history we will be showing the internationally acclaimed documentary films: "George Jackson: Revolutionary" @  3pm  and  "Attica" @  5pm
These (2) film screenings will be immediately followed by a historical open discussion with a number of former activist prisoners who actually participated in The Revolutionary Prison Movement Of The 70's.
