Innocence Lost

Here is an article from Texas Monthly Magazine about a Texas death penalty case.  As this article show, Anthony Graves is almost certainly innocent of the crime he was convicted of.  He is still in prison after 18 years, despite being granted a new trial in 2006.  Jury selection for the new trial will finally begin in February, 2011.

This article is a long, investigative piece, much like the David Grann piece in the New Yorker on the Cameron Todd WIllingham case -

Since August 23, 1992, Anthony Graves has been behind bars for the gruesome murder of a family in Somerville. There was no clear motive, no physical evidence connecting him to the crime, and the only witness against him recanted, declaring again and again before his death, in 2000, that Graves didn’t do it. If he didn’t, the truth will come out. Won’t it?
