From ‪#‎Fathers4Justice‬ campaign director Nadine O'Connor.
Dear JK,
We have been writing to you since 2nd April concerning your role as President of the organisation Gingerbread.
Gingerbread has consistently opposed “shared parenting” and supports a secretive and abusive system of family justice which forcible separates tens of thousands of children from their fathers every year for no good reason.
As you may be aware, nearly 4 million children in the UK live in fatherless families and every day we estimate at least 200 children are separated from their fathers in secret courts. The cost to the country of mass fatherlessness and family breakdown is estimated to be £44 billion a year. The emotional damage and social cost to our children and country is far higher.
We believe that you should reconsider your support for an organisation which advocates these discriminatory and abusive policies and we would ask you to make a stand for shared parenting this Father’s Day and in doing so, end your relationship with Gingerbread.
We will be raising the matter of shared parenting in Parliament shortly. Our current Early Day Motion 210 can be read herehttp://www.parliament.uk/edm/2013-14/210
We hope that you will support children and families on this critical social justice issue and we look forward to your response in the near future.
Nadine O’Connor
Campaign Director, Fathers4Justice
