America Has A "Culture of Violence." In looking at homicide world wide, America has more 30 time more homicides then it next highest country Germany in 2002. We have a very bad Violence Culture.
While Detroit murder are still lower then places like LA, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Phil i.e., New York had 2,245 killing in 1990, in 2001 it had 643 murders, when Detroit only 395, this is still not acceptable. In 2004 America, 139 of our police were killed by suicide.
Detroit had 386 homicides in 2012. 333 were from shooting and 1,263 more nonfatal shootings. In 1974 there were 714 killing/homicides.
In a five year prior 2003 in the USA we had over 54,444 people by Suicides. In 2003 suicide had had past up homicides. American's a decade ago own over 216 million firearm, which 72 million were handguns. Detroit like most Police Department in our country bought new guns for our police. We learn later these guns were sold to a dealers, and many of them were making their way back to Detroiters etc., being resold legally to people as use "cheep" guns. Guns have now become our America favorite means to deal with "Conflict and our problems, but we still use pills, bats, knives, cars, suicides etc. This is definitely not acceptable.
The CDC study's show there was "No proof That Gun Laws Reduce Firearm Violent." (Oct. 2003) The FBI reported that only 1-2 % of crime are committed by the so called Assault firearms.
To understand why America, our city, states and country has such a high rate of killing we have to look at a number of thing i.e., America has a "Culture of Violence" i.e., our cartoon, movies, our violent video game (which even our Arm force use to train our solders how to kill, books, government etc., promote "Conflict" to "Resolve of Conflict" of our different.
Thousands of guns are sold yearly in America. In 2003 17 million gun were sold, that's over 40,000 a day.
People are killed daily, and it has become acceptable in our TV entertainment. Our children see over 8,000 murders on TV by the age of Junior High school, and over 18,000 by High School. Our past eight or more president have told countries we will drop our Atomic, Hydrogen, Neutron bomb etc., on you! We don't promote "Conflict and Resolution," a peacefully was of resolving our differences.
America has the highest killing/murder rate in the world, and this is not acceptable! We have to organize ourselves to change this, to struggle to change this violent way of look and dealing with our conflicts on all levels.
We and our children have been taken over by America "Gun Culture." In 1997 over 1 million guns were taken to our schools i.e., 59% from whites, 18% fro Blacks, 12% from Hispanic, 3% fro Asian and 3% from Native American.
Reason for our self destruction are society are historically Culture of Violence, racism, underdevelopment, economic dependency on other because of racism, learn self-hatred from US racism, lack of jobs, the need of positive education that promote positive self-esteem, positive believe in future, our deteriorating communities, a need of taking social responsibility, and our poor economy. Pour political leader and direction, individualism via the commitment to building strong communities, and taking political, social and economic responsible of our life's, families, communities, and our country!
