Wilson interviews Political Activist/Civil Rights Advocate Darcy
Leshore Delaproser on Social Injustice, Crime, and why she STANDS UP FOR
THE INNOCENT
Mistah Wilson: Hey there, Darcy! Thanx for taking the time for this exclusive interview with ThaWilsonBlock! How have you been?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I am good thank you very much.
Mistah Wilson: Before we get into the heat of things, please tell us a little about yourself and where you’re from?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I am originally from Ireland, But now living In the UK.
Mistah Wilson: You are involved with advocating on behalf on social injustices. Where do you get your motives from?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: By
the persons inside, whom has been wrongfully convicted, and I see their
struggles and how strong and brave they have been, that is where i get
my motives from.
Mistah Wilson: With the type of work that you do, would you consider yourself a political activist?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I suppose yes, in some ways, after I learnt about Mumia's case, Reginald Blanton, etc.
Mistah Wilson: What are some of the cases you are currently working on?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I
am currently advocating, for Davontae Sandford, Leon Benson, Cyntoya
Brown, Johnnie Savory, Sara Kruzan, Christy Phillips Nyron Nichols,
Curtis Jones, Terrance Bowman Taylor. Joseph Patri Brown.
Mistah Wilson: How do you feel about the U.S government?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: They are no longer a Peoples Government for the People.
Mistah Wilson: You
are the #1 member across social networks everywhere. Do you feel social
media has revolutionized the way we communicate as a people?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: Yes I do believe that social networking is a key for being a voice for the voiceless.
"The Greatest weapon, is not a gun, nor is it nuclear, it is a information control."
Mistah Wilson: Your
facebook group “Standing Up for the Innocent” has attracted people from
all over to post about social awareness. What are you trying to
accomplish with this group?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I am trying to gain support and awareness for people without a voice, who are wrongly convicted.
Mistah Wilson: Do you personally write all of your articles?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: No,
some are reposted that I feel can help the cause, some I do write
myself if a topic arises that I feel 100 percent knowledgeable about.
Mistah Wilson: In today’s society, what would be the hardest thing to accept?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: People turning their backs on others who need the help and support.
Mistah Wilson: You’ve
appeared on countless online radio shows concerning political
injustices. How much of an impact do you think you’ve made thus far?

Darcy Leshore Delaproser
:
I brought awareness and more support to Davontae Sandford, where we had a rally in 2012 in Detroit.
Mistah Wilson: Since you aren’t American, why do you care so much about the political injustices in the United States?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: Because
over here our legal system is more elite and civilized, and DNA plays a
big part, where as in USA it costs alot for DNA, for Example we do not
have the Death penalty over here, and if there is a murder charge, A
lawyer will see his client, often, not like Death row in usa, I have
known a death row Inmate ( Reginald Blanton, who has been executed 27th
October 2009) who only saw his lawyer twice in about two years, some do
not even get replies from their lawyers when the inmates writes to their
lawyers, this would not happen over here in England. Admittedly there
can be injustices over here, but I felt the need to help those who do
not get help.
Mistah Wilson: Who are some of the people you are involved with on behalf of your civil rights advocacy?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I am involved with many individuals.
Mistah Wilson: What is your synopsis on innocent persons being held beyond their will?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: More lawyers should take on Pro bono cases, to help these.
Mistah Wilson: What are your views on the death penalty?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I
believe a crime should be punishable for, but not death, The death
penalty can not bring a victim back, nor does it deter crime., it seems
that there is less crimes in states where there is no Death Penalty.
Maybe life without parole should be an alternative. Also over the years
some has been found innocent. And recently for example Anthony Graves
was exhonerated from Texas Death Row after being on the row for about 18
years. I would say the death penalty is more of a revenge.
Mistah Wilson: How long have you been doing this kind of work?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: Nearly coming up 8 years.
Mistah Wilson: Tell us a little about some of the most intense scenarios you’ve been faced with…
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: Whilst
doing all this, you come up against alot of hate, Which i suppose comes
with the territory, because alot of people do not agree with giving
someone a voice that society rather hide.
And
when Reginald Blanton was executed, my friend which is Reggies fiance
witnessed his execution, i saw the pain and hurt that sandie went
through when she was trying to get help and support for Reg, Reg sent me
a personal message before he was executed, and a thankyou, for when i
supported his fiance.
Mistah Wilson: How do you feel about the wars taking place around the world today?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: I
feel religion sometimes plays a large part in wars. I feel some do not
even know the whole truth on what they are fighting for.
An amazing quote came to me from inspirational person.
Frederick
Douglas once said "Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet
deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the
ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the
ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a
moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and
physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a
demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what a people will
submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and
wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they
are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of
tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress"
Mistah Wilson: Do you have any positive uplifting words for the victims of today’s system?
Darcy Leshore Delaproser: Try to find a good support system, A good circle of friends that can network and get your voice heard.
