Dear Mr Cameron,
The NHS is 66 today, as I type this, but it is no longer the NHS created in 1948 by Aneurin Bevan and the then Labour party. The NHS logo is becoming more and more an umbrella logo for private health care companies which are steadily taking over our NHS.
Of course this is privatisation by deceit, it is still our money being contracted out to these private companies but instead of all the money we pay going into health care, a percentage is creamed off as profit and to pay dividends to share holders. Of course the rhetoric dished out is that competition gives rise to better service and better value for money, but that's nothing that a well managed nationalised service could not provide.
This isn't real privatisation where companies sink or swim on producing a product that is marketable, taking their chances with all the other companies. This is contracting out our taxes to privateers who strive to ensure it's a nice little earner for them. Just ask any of the 70 or so MPs with interests in private health care, or why would they bother?
Had the country known what you planned you would never have come close to a sniff at government. You promised to protect our NHS, you promised no top down reorganisation of our NHS and you promised no cuts to front line services. Cutting 5,870 NHS nurses, 7,968 hospital beds and a third of ambulance stations says you lied to the nation.
There is a huge national outcry at the plight of our NHS, there is even a National Health Action Party, but as we've seen, you pay no attention to the concerns of the ordinary people in this country, treating us with contempt as you funnel our money into the hands of private interests.
No government in the history of this country has betrayed the people more, recovering from your ravages is going to take a very long time, if it will even possible by the time next May comes around. This is base treachery!
We want our NHS back!
