Dear Mr Cameron,
The High Courts ruling that the retrospective legislation in the Cait Reilly Poundland case was unlawful is very welcome. Naturally the DWP will seek to appeal even though it was they who rushed through retrospective illegal legislation without consultation or scrutiny.
Part of the DWP's defence was that repayments to benefits claimants would be "an undeserved windfall". Doesn't that say it all for your governments attitude to ordinary people! Repayments of what people were entitled to in the first place as "an undeserved windfall"? Feel the contemptuous, sneering, hate in that!
That's the real problem we are up against, the over riding sneering contempt for ordinary folks, and it's far from restricted to benefit recipients, did people but know it.
All those who are managing to get along at the moment are going to discover one day that the bail out robbery, the loss of employment protections, the loss of legal aid, the loss of the NHS, the loss of pensions, the loss of a decent retirement age, the loss of free at the point of use medical treatment, the loss of public land, the loss of rights around their own homes and property to frackers, are all going to bite them one day.
The Westminster bubble has only one loyalty and that's to the financial markets, the unrestrained greed that is the 'free markets'.
You said back in January 2012, 'And I would go further: where they work properly, open markets and free enterprise can actually promote morality.' Since then you have proved again and again that you care nothing for morality, even if you knew what it meant.
You have abandoned the lives of ordinary people to the god of unrestrained market forces and greed. Iain Duncan Smith has turned welfare into warfare driving people into forced labour and slavery through vicious claimant contracts and the use and abuse of sanctions.
The only thing we do not deserve is you and your government treating ordinary people like cheap commodities, betraying us every step of the way.
