Since 1990 there have been over 1430 deaths -UK Police Custody ... Description Historically in the UK there have only been 11 unlawful killing verdicts out of over 1430 deaths and only ONE Police Officer charged (but not successfully convicted) to date. The figures definatly do not add up.
We see the battles families have to get the case to court, 4 years, seven years, bodies of the deceased being held for over a year, body mix ups in the case of Christopher Alder, enough is truly enough!
Across the world the figures are growing, in South Africa recently we saw thirty miners shot and thousands of innocent people injured by Police Officers in south Africa 16th August 2012. We hear of Chavis Carter a young man detained in Jonesboro who was apparently able to shoot himself in the temple in July of this year despite being handcuffed,
The purpose of this page is to collectively support the unified call for an END to DEATH in Police Custody on a Worldwide scale and to collectively acknowledge that the I.P.C.C here in the U.K. is not fit for purpose due to numerous failures to act, even in the presence of Video/Photographic evidence.
