Inner child so innocent the days have now gone
Where once I wore a white dress
Dancing in the morning sun
The sound of laughter rang through the house
Yet I knew with friends telling secrets
Be quiet as a mouse
Mother taught me to talk
Taught me to walk
How to eat up my dinner
Using knife and a fork
Showed me the difference of the truth and a lie
Was always a hand
Be it for tears or a smile
But the most important thing I learned as a kid
Was to be kind and honest
To live and let live
As further this child travelled into the world of the grown
I learnt I may not always see you
But I'll not be alone
Your hand ever guiding
Your eyes tentatively watch
Every second that passes on my life left to live clock
