NORTH EAST REGIONAL ZULUS IN GENERAL AND; NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY STATE ZULUS IN PARTICULAR ARE EXPECTED TO COME OUT & REPRESENT
for... the annual pilgrimage to the gravesite of the immortal El Hajj Malik El Shabazz - Malcolm X On His 89th Birthday Celebration!
Participants and observers will assemble at the Harlem State Office Building at 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard at 9am.
Buses and cars will leave for Ferncliff Cemetary in Ardsley, NY at 10am sharp!
We shall return @ 2:00pm Sharp!
The Pilgrimage to Malcolm’s gravesite was conceived and developed by the late Ella Little-Collins, Malcolm’s older sister who succeeded him as leader of his
Organization of Afro American Unity (OAAU).
Both The Pilgrimage and ceremony has been faithfully upheld by Baba Professor James Small, the current chair of the OAAU.
In 1993, the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee (MXCC), an active member of both the Peoples Survival Program and The Guillermo Morales-Assata Shakur Center; Made a commitment to help grow the ceremony and began running additional buses to the gravesite. The pilgrimage has grown considerably both locally and along the northeast seaboard with buses traveling from Boston, New York, Philly and Washington DC.
