On Thursday, the former Black Panther Assata Shakur Hinds was added to the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist List for the 1973 killing of a New Jersey state trooper. Shakur has long proclaimed her innocence and accused federal authorities of political persecution. Lennox Hinds, a Professor of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University and Shakur's defense attorney for four decades, tells Democracy Now! that the case has always been politically motivated and undermined by forensic evidence.
