Freedom of speech or freedom to insult?
A while ago, angry protests spread throughout the Middle East as a result of a controversial anti-Islam film titled "Innocence of Muslims." The film was produced by an Israeli American, Sam Basil, who claimed to have raised $5 million from 100 Jewish donors to make the film. This is not the first time that Muslims have been demonised in popular media. In recent years, films and documentaries have been the fashionable choice through which to demonise Muslims.
Geert Wilders' controversial Fitna sparked controversy in 2008. More recently in the UK, Channel 4's documentary Islam: The Untold Story triggered hundreds of complaints to both the television regulator Ofcom and Channel 4 itself. On this week's INFocus we will find out what the objective of insulting Muslims in the West is.
