Trayvon's death - Not in Vain
Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, the parents of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen who was shot and killed by a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain last February, share memories of their son with over 3,000 child advocates in the National and Racial Healing Town Hall at the Children's Defense Fund's (CDF) national conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Determined to turn the pain and grief for a child lost into something positive - Trayvon's parents called for advocates, particularly the 1,400 young people present, to organize and be vocal about protecting children like Trayvon from senseless gun violence and racial profiling. Fulton urged participants to take to social media networks, and Martin echoed: If you stand for what you believe in, others will stand with you.
