SATURDAY: Rise Up to Free Maroon

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

Please join the NYC Campaign to Free Russell Maroon Shoatz at a special event on Saturday, June 21st.  The freeing of Maroon Shoatz from decades’ long solitary confinement was one of Fred Ho’s last missions.  That was accomplished, but the work continues.  Please join the NYC Campaign and Scientific Soul Sessions for this special evening.

The RAPP Campaign (Release Aging People in Prison)
In February of this year, senior citizen, published author, and U.S. political prisoner Russell Maroon Shoatz was released into general population from solitary confinement after over 22 consecutive years of torture! This was a historic people’s victory of the international campaign mobilized around Maroon.
Join us on June 21st for an evening of music, arts, poetry, and delicious food in celebration of this victory as one small step in the continued struggle to free all of our elders incarcerated, and ALL political prisoners. The next step must be to demand full freedom NOW for Russell Maroon Shoatz! We won’t allow less than complete freedom. We must be prepared for our next steps and calls to action.
Let’s RISE UP for Maroon and take a stand for freedom as we work toward building a better world!
