NEW YORK –Dennis Levy was picked to be President/C.E.O. of New York State Committee To Legalize Marijuana (‘Committee’). Levy has more than 30 years of experience working as a community organizer. He was founder of ‘The American Pot Smokers Association’ and was President of ‘Black and Latino AIDS Coalition’. “We are planning to take the legalize marijuana movement in New York to the next level,” he said to the Board. The ‘Committee’s Mission is to get marijuana legalized, regulated, and taxed in New York State like Alcohol. “We will be planning more Civil Disobedience and peaceful demonstrations before the November elections.” The bill seeking legalization of recreation marijuana has been stalled in Albany and medical marijuana has also been held up by Albany Republicans. More than half of New York State voters support legalizing marijuana. Dennis Levy lives in New York City with his son.
