Loving Day Goes Global




From coast to coast and around the globe, multi-ethnic events are #winning (happening). Our hard-working friends have been organizing a wide variety of fun parties, including: film screenings, exhibition openings, and beach picnics. Check out below to see if any of these cultural shindigs are in your neck of the woods.

MASC Beach Picnic 8/18
 
Feel the rays and celebrate interracial, multiethnic community!
MASC Annual Beach Picnic!
Come relax on the beach and with Multiracial Americans of Southern California (MASC) next month! This year’s beach picnic will include games, food, and drinks. 
Where: Del Rey Lagoon, 6660 Esplanade Pl., Playa Del Rey 90293 – Look for the MASC banner!
When: Noon-5pm on Sunday, 8/18/13
Cost: $5 per person for non-members; free for members

War Baby/Love Child Reception 8/8:
 
Over in Seattle, the Wing Luke Museum is hosting an opening reception on Thursday, August 8th for their latest exhibition: WAR BABY/LOVE CHILD: MIXED RACE ASIAN AMERICAN ART, curated by Loving Day friends Laura Kina and Wei Ming Dariotis. The exhibition explores how "mixed-heritage Asian American artists address hybrid identities in their artwork." Works by Kip Fulbeck, Louie Gong, Amanda Ross-Ho, and many more included!

Hafu Film in Singapore 8/14 and Tokyo 10/5:
 
For our friends in Japan, Hafu: The Mixed-Race Experience in Japan will be shown in theatrical release on Saturday, October 5th at the Uplink Factory in Shibuya for a two week run!
