Fighting China's one-child policy
An image of a Chinese woman who appears to have been beaten and forced to have an abortion is causing outrage on the internet.
Feng Jiamei was allegedly targeted for being unable to pay a fine for having more than one child, in violation with China's one-child policy. Local authorities say Feng agreed to the abortion.
Chai Ling, the founder of All Girls Allowed, an advocacy group focused on protecting women's rights in China, is against the country's one-child policy.
Al Jazeera's Stephen Cole spoke with Ling after she contacted Feng Jiamei about the forced abortion.
