We don't always get a discussion of political prisoners included in discussions of other radical and social justice issues. Amidst the flurry of February events, please include this - at the Brecht Forum this Thursday (388 Atlantic Avenue, BKLYN; brechtforum.org)

Lessons for Palestine, Political Prisoners, and Economic Justice
Glen Ford, Joel Kovel & Laura Whitehorn
Millions mourned the recent death of South African leader Nelson Mandela, who was instrumental in bringing about an end to Apartheid in that country. In the midst of well-deserved accolades, however, little was said, much less debated, about Mandela's support for Palestine, economic justice, and political prisoners. This panel addresses these largely ignored aspects of the Mandela legacy, with three critical perspectives each shedding crucial light on what Mandela, his errors as much as his accomplishments, have to teach us for future struggle.
