US committing crimes against Muslims at Guantanamo
A Beirut-based political analyst tells Press TV that the world's Human Rights organizations are still silent about the prisoners' conditions at Guantanamo Bay and have not done anything to put an end to the situation. Over 100 inmates at the notorious US Guantanamo military prison and torture camp have joined a hunger strike, protesting their indefinite detention and worsening conditions there. The protest action involves Camp 6 which houses about 130 men. All the inmates at the cell are reportedly on hunger strike except for a few who are elderly or sick. Lawyers are complaining of deteriorating health conditions of their clients and what they call a worsening humanitarian crisis. Several rights advocates have now testified before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, questioning the US government's failure to close the prison camp. They have also testified about the grave psychological impact of indefinite detention and the deaths of men at Guantanamo.
