Justice for Ramarley Graham! Stop Police Brutality! Stop Stop & Frisk!
Tues, March 19, 8:30 a.m., Bronx Criminal Court (265 161st St.)

The Hunter/Queens branch of the International Socialist Organization encourages all opponents of racial profiling and police brutality to support the family of Ramarley Graham, Tuesday March 19, when they will be attending the next court date of Richard Haste, the police officer who kill the unarmed 18yr old in the bathroom of his own home, in front of his grandmother and 6 yr old brother.

For over a year now, the Graham family has been holding vigils and marches to keep the fight for justice alive. They are now at the center of a growing movement of family members of police violence victims who refuse to be silent.

Last September, when Haste was arraigned in Supreme Court, the NYPD showed up in force, cheering and high five-ing Haste like a hero. In every court appearance since, it's been supporters of the Graham family who have showed up in numbers and made their voices ring out. .

Come out on March 19 to show your support! Below is a message from the family.

Subject: Court date changed

I know some of you might have already heard, but for those who haven't, the court date was changed from March 26 to March 19th. Frank and myself are not sure as to why this happened but we do have a feeling why. The most heart rendering thing was that the DA didn't have the courtesy to call us nor our lawyers to notify us of the change.

As I don't hold a degree in law, I believe it is policy and procedure that when a change as this occur, both parties should be notified just in case a party might have prior arrangements such as not being in the country at the time. We both believe that not notifying us of the new court date was done maliciously so that we could miss the date and not show up to court and also not to have YOU "OUR SUPPORTERS" at the court house.

Richard Haste didn't have any remorse when he murdered our son and now the STATE slapped us in the face with this disrespect.

Well, they should have known that all this will do is strengthen us. Please come out and help us show them that although they tried to silence us, they failed yet once again.

As I said before and will continue to say until Richard Haste goes to Jail, I WILL NOT BE SILENCED. THE STATE CANNOT SILENCE ME.

Thank you so much for your continued support
