California wants to ban fracking

Tuesday in California, state lawmakers held a hearing about regulating the practice of fracking. Fracking is the technology of extracting natural gas by digging a well thousands of feet down into shale rock formations and then injecting millions of gallons of water, sand and chemicals under extremely high pressure. The technology also causes the rock to crack or fracture and some activists believe that this poses environmental and health risks. Brenna Norton, an organizer for Food & Water Watch
