Saturday, Nov 20, from 4 to 6 pm is the last chance to send a greeting to heroic peoples lawyer Lynne Stewart through the prison bars at MCC.
Lynne is soon to be transferred--who knows where?
This may be the last opportunity for a long time for Lynne to see her many supporters and for all of us to see her waving at the window.
This is the 1-year anniversary of Lynne Stewart's bail being revoked and her incarceration at MCC.
On July 15, 2010 Lynne Stewart, age 71, was re-sentenced to 10 years in prison. Lynne was originally arrested in April 2002 and falsely accused of aiding terrorism because she issued a press release. This is an obvious attempt by the U.S. government to silence dissent, curtail vigorous defense lawyers, and install fear in those who would fight against the U.S. government's racism, seek to help Arabs and Muslims being prosecuted for free speech and defend the rights of all oppressed people.
Please come out to show your love, solidarity and support to Lynne.
From 4 to 6pm this Saturday:
Gather St Foley Sq, Tom Paine Park, corner of Center St & Pearl St,
5pm - march down Pearl Street to the Metropolitan Correction Center (MCC) at 150 Park Row.
Bring flashlights, drums, bells, horns.
Let's be visible and loud, so that Lynne can both hear and see us.
